DESCRIPTION: Instruments- 2 (Two) Two Large Boxed Compasses: (1) Henry Brown & Sons, London, "Sestrel Circum Dead-beat", 6.5 inch dampened compass with electrical plug in a finger-jointed mahogany case. (2) E.S. Ritchie & Sons, Pembroke, MA, "U.S. Navy Standard Compass", 7.5 inch wet card, electrical wires for light bulb in base, all gimbal-mounted in a finger jointed mahogany case.
CONDITION: (1) Wood case is coming apart at one rear corner. Foam inserts in case are deteriorating. Bowl of compass has a lot of oxidation. Electrical cable end is corroded. (2) Large air bubble in compass. Dimensions are for Sestrel box.
